Is This Your Business?

Neighborhood bar that caters to gay and lesbian clientel. Usually quiet, but really cums to life during Mardi Gras, especially on the day of the Spanish Town Parade. There is a pool table in one room, the bar is in the other and there is a video game on the bar.

Neighbourhood: Downtown

From I-110 N, take the North Street exit. At the bottom of the ramp go straight until 6th St. Turn left for 1 block, then turn left again on Main St. Hound Dogs will be on the right at the end of that block.
  • Hours:Bar opens in the early afternoon, but most of the patrons don't start arriving until after 5 pm.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:This is a neighborhood bar, nothing to rowdy happening here. Just everyday people that happen to be gay having a drink with a few friends after work. Crowd is mostly 40-50ish. Go in, have a drink and a look around, if you see someone you like, make some eye contact then go say hello. I have seen 2 men exit the single toilet mens room at one time during Mardi Gras. Not sure that this is a common practice here, but anything is possible.
  • Nudity / Policy:No nudidty.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / I don't think the bar is really handicap accessible. No special in the men's room, as it is, it was a tight fit for me to walk in and out of, no way a wheel chair could get in there.
  • Warnings:Just be smart. It is a public place and anyone could walk in at any minute. Make contact, then take it home or to a hotel.

  • BTW, the bartenders will kick you out if they see you doing something or if you try to go to the restroom with another person.

  • This is NOT a cruise bar! Please don't make it one. This is the only bar left in BR worth going to.
