The main beach is on West Ship Island. Clothed bathers are near the boardwalk from ferry dock, and this beach has all the amenities, restrooms, showers, chair & umbrella rentals, etc. From the main beach head east atlesta mile to where nude sunbathing begins. There will never be large crowds as there is lots of room to spread out. There are fewer on weekdays than on weekends. A good portion of nude sunbathers are gay men.
Crowd: A fair number of nudists are gay men.

Ship Island is accessible by passenger ferry from Gulfport. For info call (800) 388-3290 or(website: msshipisland.com). Ferry departs Gulfport Yacht Harbor, near intersection US 90 & 49. Ferry docks north side of island, take boardwalk to southside & main beach, head east (left facing water) at least 1 mile before disrobing.

  • wow...i never knew about the clothing optional area....i might need to take a trip out there for the day and catch a nice tan all over!
