Who's Coming

Married guys, shift workers, you name it. A fair number of folks ride horseback on the trails, so don't walk naked unless you're pretty sure who's out there.

from I-24, take 840 East to Hwy 41 north to Smyrna and turn right at Florence Rd. Follow about a mile until you see signs for East Fork Picnic Area. Turn left, follow road to the T, turn left and watch for the entrance on the left after about another 2 miles. You can also get there by taking 41 North (Broad St. in Murfreesboro) to Florence Road just after the 840 interchange. Turn right and follow directions above. A third way: take 840 to Sulphur Springs exit (57), turn left, and go about two miles, watching for East Fork sign on the right. Turn right, go to the T, turn left, and watch for entrance on left.

This place is next to nowhere and you have to want to get there. But it's very secluded and quiet.

  • Hours:Avoid early morning (little traffic) and late evening (cops patrol for partiers and drugs and ). Try late morning through early evening. Less action weekends in summer when families come to hike and fish.

Obviously, this is more of a warm-weather place, but there's car cruising on decent cool days.Dates open: Year 'round for boat launch area and car cruising and some trails. Main back area closed November - Marchish
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Great place to get naked, sunbathe, skinny-dip, sun in the car, whatever. Bring a book or something as diversion during slow times and to have as a reason to be there!
Cruisiest Spots: The bathroom's hot, but you can't always hear cars pull up. Try the trails, or the fishing/swimming holes and picnic tables.

  • Before the parking area in the back, you'll see the boat launch area. Sometimes guys park there and walk the trails or strip down in their cars, since there's plenty of notice if other cars come in.

  • I love going in the woods by a picnic table or walking the trails back to an open field and sunbathing nude.
  • Nudity / Policy:Yes / You can go nude on the trails if you know who's around. You can skinny-dip (I've had a lot of fun doing this, and guys will actually strip down and join, sometimes). You can always leave the trail and go into a field and strip down for some sun.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Long stretches of time when nobody's around. Relatively few cruisers. The occasional odd guy who wanders around and leaves for no apparent reason.
Warnings: Occasional patrols by the sheriff's department. They park in the lot, check the bathrooms, and then walk around if they can't visually account for people based on the number of cars there. I have never encountered one, but other guys have had minor hassles and one saw a cop on a quiet motorbike checking out the area.
