Is This Your Business?

This is a historic site of a former fort used as a safe haven for former slaves. There is nothing but this long boardwalk over the marsh that goes into a wooded area that terminates into a larger decked observation area. It is so far back you can hear anyone that is approaching because there is only one way in and the long boardwalk gives you time to recover if the occasional tourist visits. During the warm months the foliage is thick and allows you cover to do anything you want.

  • Yes. It`s open but don`t get your hopes up. Stopped by the other day to check out the boardwalk. Met the park mgr.(he wasn`t cruising). He proceeded to tell me all the plans for the park including interactive tours etc. Will be putting in an "Iron ranger" and asking for $2.00 fee. Manager will be on site daily. Talked about eventually building a manned pay booth. The park isn`t that big or busy and we can`t handle that kind of attention. I will not be going back.
