Is This Your Business?

At milepost 98, the northbound lanes of I-85 cross under the southbound lanes, and cross back over them near milepost 102. This results in motorists driving on the "wrong side of the road" for three-plus miles: while you're driving this stretch, the opposing lanes are on your right. One reason this was done was to allow right-hand exits for the N.C. Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, which lies in the spread median between the two roadways at milepost 100. There are also two rest areas [1] in the middle of the road here, one serving each direction. Furthermore, the Hamby Creek runs between the two roadways, and engineers may have chosen the switchover design and wide separation to best preserve the creek.
As a practical matter, the "wrong-way" switch is not very noticeable, because the roadways are separated by several hundred feet of woods in this area.

  • Crowd:Anyone, Bluecollar, Whitecollar, Truckers, Construction Workers, Traveling Tourists, Etc.
  • Hours:Anytime
Best times: I would suggest saying after 11pm because the cleaning crew only works till 11pm, before that it is impossible to do anything because the crew is in and out of the bathrooms every few minutes.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:it's usually safe to play in there, just make sure whatever you do, that you're able to get into your own individual s within 3-5 seconds. The outside doors are motion-detected, so you hear them open and have time to move into the before someone passes through the doorway to the bathroom. usually playing in the same is dangerous and not smart. under the play, play right outside of the s, and play is best.

it's a great place to meet guys to just jerk or even get some action from the locals.
    Cruisiest Spots: Restroom
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
