Central Souk

Is This Your Business?

This is the Central Souk in Aleppo, which is as big as the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. It literally covers hectares of ground right in the centre of Aleppo.
All tourists go there to see the place. I was asked several times if I knew of Oscar Wilde -- seems to be a sort of password, then invited to dinner afterwards or to visit another shop where there could be some action.
Crowd: Locals working the shops are looking for visitors.

Enter the Central Souk from the entrance opposite the Citadel and walk around the section selling souvenirs, etc. Chat to the shop owners and after a time they will ask you 'Do you know Oscar Wilde?' Look around -- soon you will find some action.
