cruiser Update: This rest area was removed. A replacement rest area with MUCH more truck parking has replaced it at approx mile 160, just east of the M-52 / Chelsea exit 159. There are no bushes or outside area at this rest area, but it is constructed in the newer style with two distinct rooms for each gender -- the trucker side is generally much more likely to have cruisers in it.

The rest area is very active, warm nights
with activity occuring outside behind
the denser bushes.

  • I drove past there this afternoon - the new one (up on a hill, no trees) close to Chelsea is open. The old one close to Baker Rd is being totally torn apart.

  • This rest stop does not exist anymore. Buildings torn down, exit closed. Don't waste your time.

  • I noticed tonight there is a new rest area on east bound 94, just west of exit 162. This must be a replacement for the old rest stop east of exit 169, which has been closed. I had noticed the construction going on all summer but didn't know what was going on until I saw the sign tonight. Anyone check out the new place yet?
