Megier Rest Area

From Astoria take the famous Astoria Bridge across the Columbia River and once on the Washington side turn right at the end of the bridge onto hwy # 401. It is a short scenic drive with the river on your right before you reach the rest area which is wedged between the highway and the river. It is a large rest area with tables and an information kiosk.

• Hours:This is open 24/7. I stopped there with my motor home on a week day morning and was there long enough to cook and eat breakfast. During that time I not only witnessed plenty of coming and going but managed to get in on the action as well. I was only there that one time but judging by the graffiti it is a very active location.
• Cruising Info/ Tips:The usual common sense cruising rules apply. The washroom is where you cruise and the guys are all ages and types. There are a lot of tourists stop here since the photo opportunity for the bridge is excellent here. Also there are locals from Astoria who stop by as well as military personnel from the various military installations that are located near here.

• Warnings:There is an information kiosk suppling tourist info about Washington State so if you are entering the washroom frequently from an area where you have to pass the info window then go around behind the building so as not to be obvious.
