cruiser update 6/24/2008: The rest stop is being torn apart and construction is underway. Probably going to be restrooms, which were not there before Hurricane Katrina. As of June, 2008, you aren't able to exit to it.

I-10, M.M. #12, east side. Not the first rest area. This is the parking area beyond the R.A.

  • Crowd:Truckers and suckers, New Orleans queens. A lot of pop and mom during the day.
  • Hours:Anytime, really. However, the best time is after 8 pm until about 3 am.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Don't do a lot of flashing, They will know who you are and what you want without that.
    Cruisiest Spots: The woods. After dark, if you see a trucker get out of his truck to take a leak, let him know that you are there and he will let you know if he needs relief.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Too many nelly queens from New Orleans go there.
    Warnings: The cops do come through at times and can harass you, not always, though.

  • Passed by recently, they are constructing a weigh station there now, is there a new cruise spot in that area now?? Seems like a huge area for just a weigh station, I wonder if the rest of the area will be for parking??? Anyone know?

  • Oldroy1950....get a grip! The place closed NOT because of this site, but because the state of Mississipi is redesigning the place as a truck weight station AND a parking area to replace the current welcome center at MileMarker 2. Get a grip! If you would just drive by the place you would see all the construction taking place. What are you..some kind of Bush/Palin whack job?

  • for698 - Queergaywillow is right. It is blabbermouths mostly antigay that keep this site and others going so the information will continue on gay's where -a- bouts. Yes that is why most cruise places have cops in them or they are no longer open or "the fear" has been cast on them by reading this board.

  • It is closed temporarily and is being used on and off for equipment staging for the repaving work being done on I-10. I understand from talking to some guys that work on the project, that it will reopen later this summer.
