It's a long hike in, so plan on spending a night or two. Bring water, food, tent and warm sleeping bag. No campfires allowed, so bring a cook stove. Bring a little weed if you got it and share with others in the tubs to get in the right mood (, that is).

Park at the Big Sur Ranger Station ($5 a day) and head 10.5 miles up the Pine Ridge Trail to Sykes Camp. The springs are about an eighth of a mile downriver from the camp proper.

  • Hours:Weekdays, off season (fall and spring are best)
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Very few other people- usually it will be you and a few other single hikers.
    Cruisiest Spots: The hot springs, not the camp
  • Nudity / Policy:Yes / Watch out for poison oak!
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Don't go on weekends or anytime during the summer- it's a mob scene.
