Is This Your Business?

This is a good place for meeting guys. After you meet someone, you need to go somewhere else for action. There are too many eyes here to allow anything to happen. There are also some police who are undercover.
Crowd: Young Egyptians and some tourists.

Warnings: Occasional police activity. The guys all seem to disappear for a while, whenever there are undercover police around. One time I was warned by a nice young man that there were police walking in our direction. He said to come back in an hour. I did and the place was crowded with guys an hour later.

  • Elias99: there is no point in being rude. I'm not ugly and above all not stupid and I have travelled the world extensively both in Middle Eastern countries and other areas so I can take care of myself. Anyway I can say Egypt is one of the safest places (for a foreigner anyway!) especially because Egyptians are really sweethearted people and even the hustlers aren't as ill-natured as Moroccans or Tunisians. For the record, I've been living in Cairo 4 months now and have been in a relationship with an Egyptian I met after my 4th day in the city. I am well aware of the "real" gay scene, the private parties, the cafes that we won't name and all that. To be honest, considered the nasty queens you find in such places, this website's audience is much better off without knowing where such locations are. This is a website that advises on cruising spots and people bring updates and share personal experiences so I am just giving my contribution by saying where I really found action and where not. Maybe they were just bad days who knows..

  • Janehonda: you must be either stupid or damn ugly... The places you've been (Chan, Qasr el-Nil bridge, Cornish, etc) are well known to be gay hangouts. There are many other places in Cairo to meet guys/gays, but don't expect them to be named on the internet. The places change all the time, sometimes every week, and you just have to know Cairo well and have friends in the 'community'. When you're here on a holiday for just a week or so, don't expect to find anything else then gigolos or thieves, they single out foreigners who don't know the way and who are acting in such an obvious way like you apparently did. And don't expect many to speak English. Try dating sites first to find friends before you come to Cairo, this way you at least can keep it safe for yourself.

  • Went 3 times and no such thing ever occurred. The only men approaching are the Felucca salesmen and despite my less than subtle hints nothing ever came up, literally. And nevermind the undercover Police, there's plenty of uniformed Police to scare you away regardless.
