The Bird Sanctuary used to be one of Boston area's best cruising spots. It hit a lull when no-trespassing signs were posted, however there is no one patrolling the woods here and the action is picking up.
Crowd: Joggers, walkers, college kids.

Follow Memorial Drive west towards Watertown. Park in the side parking lot of the American Legion or at the BBN School.
Cross street: Gerry\'s Landing Rd

  • Hours:Days and nights.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Keep off the main trail - it's frequented by straight joggers. Stick to the side trails for cruising.
    Cruisiest Spots: The cruisy spot is a kidney-shaped patch of woods between Greenough Blvd and the Charles River right at the Eliot Bridge. It's best accessed from the West side along Greenough Blvd. A well defined trail follows along the river with side trails up into the woods.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:The place is posted "no trespassing" although it's still frequented by joggers and cruisers. Best to be discreet.

  • What happened to the Bird Sanctuary? It was the best place around for years! Does anyone go there anymore? Please post if you've been there recently.

  • I thought there was a well publicized bust here many years ago but the action was never really eradicated. I agree it used to be literally teeming with wildlife.
