  • Warnings:cruiser's response to police raids 10/17/2088:
Re "Occasional Police Raids" I am a member of the Surrey Police Independent Advisory Group. We act as critical friends to the Police in relation to their relationship with the community. I deal with LGBT issues in cruising areas. It is definitely not within the current Surrey Police force PSE site managemnet policy to conduct "raids on any cruising site" The police are however present on occasonal night time patrols as requested by some site users as a response to the ongoing issues of homophobic hate crime the area attracts. We now have an LGBT Liason officer who also attends. The prime objective is currently to raise community confidence in reporting incidents to the police. So in this regard the statement about police raids is very counterproductive and possibly undermining the good work already achieved in building up confidence. On other occasions police may be present if called to a specific incident which could occur in the daytime or night time. This would not be a raid. Also there are no longer any sings regarding parking restrictions. Thanks.

previous comment: Reports of occasional police raids. Weekend daytimes the carpark and some of the wood are popular with families. Be careful. After dark is busier and safer.
Warnings: An update from a fellow cruiser: 'The rangers have started to drive into the woods, just round the hill at first. If you follow the paths deeper into the wood along the M25 you should be safer.' Another cruiser says he hasn't seen rangers in years though they are still around.
