  • Sorry to hear that she will not be re-opening. It was a one of a kind place. I will keep my eyes open for another location as I work around town. Any info on which parts of town would be welcoming to her?

  • Yes, I think the place has finally closed. I called on saturday and the phone service has been cut off. This place will be truly miss. Hopefully, Ms. Ad will find another location so we can have fun again. There are other place in the city but they are nothing like the Belvedere.

  • What a tragedy for Addie and her family in the loss of Mac. Although I have been away from Atlanta for 10 years, I knew Addie when she worked at the Buckhead Theatre as a cashier. She always perservered during the times of pressures from DeKalb law enforcement and always did what she could to watch out for her customers. I watched "the boys" grow up into fine young men and it is obvious how they treasured their mother.

With this tragic event followed by the pressure of DeKalb authorities, I can understand why she would give up. There is no doubt in my mind this was a calculated effort to get Belvedere to close down after being a thorn in their side for so many years.

    Take care Addy!

  • Hey guys,

As mentioned below WSBTV news featured a story about "public indecency" occurring at the Belvedere Theater. Channel 2 set up cameras at the theater and 6 arrests have been made.

This may bring unwanted attention to local cruising grounds. Please cruise carefully and post what you know onto the listing.
