SATURDAY NIGHT WAS A BLAST. ITS WAS DEAD WHEN I GOT THERE AT 11:00 BUT IT PICKED UP AT MIDNIGHT. THE PLACE WAS JUMPIN. THE JUKEBOX WAS BLAIRIN PEOPLE HAVIN A GOOD TIME I MET A REALLY NICE GUY. WE WENT OUT ON THE DECK TO TALK. MACE HAD US ROLLING. HE'S FUNNY. SHAWN THE INSIDE BARTENDER IS A GOOD GUY TO. BY THE WAY THE GUY I MET WAS A GREAT LOVER TO.....I ALMOST ALWAYS FIND A GUY TO TAKE HOME AT THIS PLACE. AND IF I DONT I ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT TIME......

Went Friday night had a great time hung out on the patio with MACE he's always fun met two new friends Michael and Mike we had fun they taught me a lot of stuff....LOL( had my head spinning..LOL).Got a chance to see one of the guys I drool over Rick, didn't see HOT mike or jason, Again had a great time!!!!!! wow i go away for a few yrs and the place falls apart. lol. im assuming from all the scratching and cat fights here the place isnt the same place it was 4 yrs ago?? it was a cool place to hang out and it was close to my house. i recall a hot bartender. good times. anyways i will be in town saturday night may check it out.

This is one of the best bars in Florida. It's a place where everyone can go and just be themselves. Great bartenders, great prices, a fun and diverse crowd.

hi come out to the bar have a good time i met a really nice guy there last sunday nite and hope to see him agian and he said nothing negitive about the place .......... so come out have fun and support the gay bars of jacksonville all of them because if they did not exsist where would gay people go to meet stop trashing and come in and meet us we dont bite unless you like it

Why is it that one must continue to bash this place. It really is quite simple, if you dont like it, dont go there! Afterall, you have other choices. Its a bar, its gay, its friendly, cold beer and obviously doesnt meet some standards. SO simply put, move on!

yes this place is just a nasty old broke down bar that the owners will not fix up and redecorate or do anything.
do not waste your time here, there are other bars taht are much nicer and better.

well i guess these people like bars that never clean up and change the inside decor ever.
it is still nasty and the bartenders are fat and ugly
i guess as long as they make a couple of dollars profit daily they can stay open.

WELL ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THIS. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE BOOT RACK SINCE I MOVED TO TOWN 5MONTHS AGO I TRYED ALL THE BARS AND I THINK ITS VERY FRIENDLY. THE BARTENDERS KNOW ME BY NAME AND WHAT I DRINK .THE PEOPLE THAT GO THERE ARE GREAT. I FOUND THE OTHER BARS TO BE STUFFY AND SMUG. AS FOR THAT LIST . I HAVE NOT SEEN IT BUT I HEARD ABOUT IT AND FROME EVERY SINGLE PERSON I TALK TO THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THERE WERE ONLY TWO GUYS ON IT. AND THE PLACE IS MUCH BETTER OFF WITH OUT THEM . THEY SAID. THEY ENJOY THE BAR BETTER WITH OUT THEM . ALL I KNOW IS THAT ITS A GOOD PLACE TO GO GET A COLD BEER .MEET UP WITH MY NEW BUDS. AND HAVE A GOOD TIME .AS FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS PAST. I HEAR THE PLACE WAS A LITTLE SHADY. BUT THINGS CHANGE.

not quite the same place- a couple years ago fav spot to hang out-last time went a lot of changes-new mgmnt-no types of fun allowed anymore-even has a banned list of patrons who were kicked out for having fun posted to the front door-definitely not the same friendly bar used to be a few years back.

Hairydick u r right this sight is for fun. So lets have some. Headman has the right idea. On a lighter note the chili cook off was a blast. It was packed. I met a really nice guy and very handsome aswell. We talked for the longest time then went back to his place. We met back there on Wednesday nite not much going on but we had a good time with who was there.

elec what is your problem with this place the building dosnt smell any worse the the metro,616,park place,bo,s at the beach. they all smell like stale alcohol and tobaco. the men that go to the bootrack are a very nice plesent group of guys that talk laugh and have a good time together, like a small beer and wine bar shoud be. maybe you are bitter because you got turndowned by on of the old broken down guys you say go ther if so its 2009 move on get yourself some better karma by just not saying anything at all .. this is not ment to be mean just hoping youll become a nice kinder person in the new year good luck.

I am sorry but some of us have a much higher standard of bars than nasty boot rack.
clean the place up and the patio
nice and comfortable chairs to sit in
we can spend our money elsewhere and see who makes the profit

well there are other bars in town and i will choose to go there since you and the people there are satisfied/

so have a nice time with your old broke down building.
check out the other bars and see the business, it is 3 or 4 times the amount of people there, so that must say something.

this has nothing with the type of crowd that goes there, it is trying to fix and remodel the place up some and give it a fresh look so that whoever goes there it will be attractive.
i am sure the crowd has fell off there, so why not fix it up give it a new look and just maybe you will have more people want to stop by because of the way it looks.
clean up the bar area and freshen it up, full bar also
get some new bartenders, not very pleasant to be around

The boot is a fun relaxed bar for an older crowd and those that like older guys. If your from out of town everyone makes you feel welcome. However, if your looking for twinks and the next trendy club of the moment this is not the spot for you it's more for people who are past all that scene to be seen nonsense.

Hey, don't get mad at me. I've never been to the boot rack and I don't plan on ever going. i don't drink and don't like bars. I was good friends with a guy who owned several bars and he expained to me why ligour bars are so much more expensive than beer/wine bars. I thought I'd pass the info to all here. sorry to make waves.

I was just making a statement about the bar that goes way back and if they want to get a full bar they can.
trust me
they just do not want to spend the money and want to stay a half style bar instead of a nice bar.

then bootrack should stop talking and telling people they are going to get a full bar and do so much then.
just have a nasty hole in the wall and not try to fix the place up

my question is have they fixed up the place on the inside and cleaned up the patio so you can have a nice place.
new furniture would be a nice start and full bar
painting the place
new lighting and pictures
make it attractive

To elec: If this bar does not have a full bar now, it is not likely to get one. The license for a full bar is very expensive and there are only a limited number of them given within the city/county, that's the way it works.

ALL RIGHT JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW I HAD A GREAT TIME NEW YEARS EVE AT THE BOOT RACK. I WENT BACK THE NEXT NIGHT AND MET UP WITH THE GUY I SHARED A 12OCLOCK NEW YEARS KISS WITH. WE WERE PLAYING THE VIDEO BOWLING GAME AND WE NOTICED THAT TWO GUYS MAKEING FUN OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER. THEY WERE ACTING LIKE SCHOOL GIRLS. ONLY ONE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS IN HIS LATE 70'S AND THE OTHER HIS 60'S. THEY WERE BEING VERY MEAN TO THIS OLD GUY AND HAD POKED HIM WITH A POOL STI CK. IT WENT ON FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. JUST WHEN I WAS GOING TO SAY SOMTHING TO THEM THE BARTENDER STEPPED IN AND ASKED THEM TO COOL IT. THEY GOT MAD AT HIM AND LEFT. I AM GLAD THAT HE DID SOMETHING ABOUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING. I FELT ASHAMED FOR THOSE TWO GUYS AND HOPE TO NEVER SEE THEM IN THE BOOT RACK AGAIN. I WAS TALKING WITH MY NEW FRIEND AND WE AGREED THAT WE HAVE GOT GOOD SERVICE FROM ALL THE WAIT STAFF AT THE BOOT RACK. AND NOTICED IT WAS NOT JUST US WHO GOT GOOD SERVICE BUT ON THIS NIGHT A CUSTOMER WHO WAS BEING BULLYED,HE GOT GOOD SERVICE TO.................

Okay, now it's my turn to add my comments about the Bootrack. Personally, I like the place. Yeah, the place might not be anything to look at, but I go there because I find the guys that go there to be very nice without all the attitude that is at some of the other bars. I can go to 616 and stand alone all night and no one will ever come up to talk to me. When I go to the Bootrack, people are very friendly and the bartenders always make you feel welcome. Everytime I go, I always find someone nice to talk to. It's a good bar to shoot some pool, play darts, or just meet some new friends. Drink prices are very reasonable.

As for this place being a bar where REAL MEN hang out, well, I've seen all type guys....from young to old, twinks to trolls, muscle men to chubby guys, sissy guys to the very butch, preppy to the leather guys. Everyone gets along at the bar and it doesn't seem to be real clicky like other bars.

As for the new owners, I haven't had the opportunity to meet them yet, but do know they have done a lot of work to the place already. You might not notice some of the improvements, but they have fixed all the leaks in the roof and taken care of the mold problem. I'm sure they shelled out lots of money already on the roof, so give them some time to make other improvements to the bar.

If any of you guys haven't been to the Bootrack lately, you should give it another try. I'm positive you will have a good time if you just give it a chance. Just don't show up with your nose in the air and an attitude problem.

So if the new owners have so much money why have they not fixed up the place and made it look much better?

When are they going to put in a full bar? This should not be a problem if they have all this money.

I was there Friday night had a great time a lot of hot guys there,met the new owners and they were very friendly and fun noticed a lot of new stuff also I was there thursday night when they were getting ready for the party and had a blast MACE& STEVE are crazy!!!!!! So if you want to meet REAL MEN then the NEW BOOT RACK is the place.I even won a T-shirt.

well I had a great time there Friday night great mix of guys young,old,bears,leather I was sitting on a stool that looked new I saw tables that looked new I had a great time out on the deck I got an ice cold beer every time......WELL DONE Boot Rack.

when are the new owners going to fix up the place by getting comfortable new bar stools and tables.
redecorate the place and paint
give it a new look since we have new owners
have not seen any changes going on in this direction
give it a fresh new look and have a full bar with liquor and i am sure you will see the business greatly pickup

Last night was FUN. the New Managment, Buddy and Michelle, came out to just say Hi to everyone and talk with us about the bar, what we would like, they are are just really nice people. Michelle is a real smart and funny lady. Buddy is the more down to earth kind but still got into the the fun and atmosphere of the bar and the people. SO if you are not one of those MEN that are willing to give it a try, come on out any night or HALLOWEEN, Costume PArty CASH PRize. And enjoy the ONLY MAN bar on a small mote personal level.ax

OK, what's the Condo? I have not been there in a while.

Attention: The "Condo" now has a time limit. If you are seen going in there with someone else, they (bartenders) willl beat on the wall and ask you to leave. It is only an attempt to stop all together the activity that has made this bar so far. I do not usually say negitve remarks....but I am seeing a huge change here. I think it is totally unfair, the condo was suppose to be safe to go and do your stuff. Do these new owners know what they are doing? PERSONALLY, i THINK IT IS GOING DOWN HILL REAL FAST!!!!

now now hairydk69 there is always the Condo. it is just a bit different we will all get use to the changes, yes some are more extreme then other and they are still considering some revisions, but agian CUMon out and have a good time. I went one more time likeyou suggested on Tuesday night-between watching the security screen fliping (this sends the wrong message to a customer) this should be a relaxing place not one that you feel your every move and jesture is being scrutinized. This is a sad litle place that just got more sad.I could have thrown a bolling ball through the place and not hit a soul. There were 3 people when Igot there and within the hour none.I waited another 30 minutes and still no one showed. I for one would not recommend this place any longer.
