A gay owned and patronized B & B and campground on 100 acres. The facility is open from April until December. There is swimming in the river, hot tub and sauna, and nude sunbathing. The Retreat is just twenty minutes away from the gay bars of Des Moines. Several acres at dramatic bend of the Raccoon river. Lodge and cabin, or bring your own campers, tents.

Interstate 80 to Exit 113 (Van Meter exit), go north for 1.6 miles, turn left on gravel road (324th Way) to the fork in the road. RRR is on the left. Stop at the roap, pay at the booth, drive in and put the roap back up.

  • Was there for the first time today. Was very impressed. Met some very nice people. Will be better prepared next time I go. Cannot begin to say how nice it was to sunbath in peace and quiet.
