Is This Your Business?

After entering the Preserve, drive until you reach the barricade, park the car and proceed on foot down the road. Keep following the road until you find a trail leading into the woods. There are several so you may have to explore. Each clearing has a picnic table and this is where the nude sunbathing occurs. While this area is secluded and off the beaten trail of cyclists clothed park users, it wise to exercise some caution, such as avoiding holiday weekends.

whos coming to Lake Avenue Forest Preserve

  • Cook County Securtary of State is running the Lic. plates of every car in the preserves, looking for violations and such.
With Lic. Plates now linked to Drivers Lic. they can track who they have picked up before for cruising.

They have really started to crack down in Illinois.

Becareful, best to park in a near by shopping center and walk/bike to the areas for action. This saves on them running your plates and the impound fees.

  • This was just on the T.V. evening news.
Think this place should be left alone for a while till the heat is off.
The News said and I quote "The police will not say what the men were doing in the woods..."
Come to your own conclusions why there was a guy running around attacking other guys.
Also why the police will not say what was going on, Seems Police are going to watch this place for a while, as well as this site.

  • This appeared in a Chicago Newspaper today:

1 dead, 2 injured in forest preserve attack

One man was killed and two others injured Friday afternoon after being attacked with a rock by another man while on a walking trail in a Cook County forest preserve between Mount Prospect and Glenview, authorities said.

A person on the trail called 911, notifying the Cook County Forest Preserve police, after seeing three adult males injured on a walking trail at Camp Pine Woods in unincorporated Cook County, said Steve Mayberry, spokesman for the forest preserve.

The three victims were attacked at the same time following an altercation between themselves and the attacker. The attacker used a rock to attack each victim, Mayberry said.

One man, who sustained head injuries, was dead. The other two had head injuries and were taken to Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, where they were questioned by police, Mayberry said.

Mayberry did not know if the three are related or friends.

Police are searching for the attacker, described as a white man 20 to 25 years old, about 6 feet tall with a thin build and a long thin face. The man has a brown, buzz-style cut and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with Michigan logo on front and sunglasses, police said.

As of 5:45 p.m., police were no longer searching the woods. Evidence technicians and investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's police are now processing the scene, Mayberry said. A police helicopter and a Cook County Sheriff's police canine unit had been on the scene, he said.

The Cook County Sheriff's police, Glenview police and Mt. Prospect police are assisting with the investigation, Mayberry said.
