The road that leads around the lake is about two miles long and it's easy to see others who are looking.

Go to Rt 111 exit (exit 6) on I-55 east of East St. Louis, go north 3 miles, entrance on left.
Cross street: Rt 111, 3 miles north of I 55, on left
  • Crowd:All ages.
  • Hours:It's open 6am to 10pm. The park is locked at closing time, cops do it.
    Best times: Days and nights.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Back your car into a space and park to let others know you are interested.
    Cruisiest Spots: The boat ramp parking lot on the north end of the park is good because you can see all cars coming. The parking lot on the west side of the lake after going over the lake on the south end is good at night. There are 3 bathrooms there that are good at night.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Some of the regulars who go there have attitudes they are better than anyone else.
    Warnings: The Pontoon Beach police come through a couple of times a day, and so do the Illinois Conversation Police. If you see them, do NOT go over the 20 mph speed limit, they will stop you. Also, the speed limit on the dam road is 10 mph, and they will ticket you for that as well.
