Is This Your Business?

This is the most popular local watering hole. The Owl is a great hangout were you can meet many people of mixed orientation. I have seen many guys flame-out as well as those very discreet men looking for action. Primarily this is a straight bar but they don't seem to mind the "diverse" crowd. They also have a great Jukebox.

Neighbourhood: Imperial Valley

If your coming from I-8 get off on 4th street, head north to main street, turn left and its about three blocks down.
  • Hours:Since this is a local's bar there is great variety in the crowd. As this is a small community you have to be discreet when "cruising guys." I have hit-on and gotton hit-on many times but it is usually after having quite a few usually after the mid-night hour.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:The twinky types are obvious to spot. There are quite a few bearish types that go there so they are sometimes harder to spot. You can usually feel out the guys that are down for action.
Most of the burly types wear Bear related clothing (caps, shirts, and shorts that show bears or bear paws) but not always. It takes a little finesse but you can find yourself a good time if you wait and watch.
  • Nudity / Policy:No Nudity Allowed.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / yes
  • Warnings:Sometimes you will get some guys who are agressively homophobic but they get escorted out right away.

Pet Peeve's: Dirty Truckers. The area is located close to some hotels and many of the truckers seem to come funky.

  • I've lived in the valley most of my life and I really do not see this place as a cruising spot. A 'hook up' is possible anywhere but this place is overwhelmingly ' red neck/blue collar' and a some rough trade/bear type guys might be here but most of the people in here are a 'cold one' on the way home or in the case of the truckers.... "it's better than drinking alone in my room." Some of the Bruners crowd as moved here. The valley is so small and 'tight knit' that someone knows you no matter where you are that DL/discretion is a must around here.
