whos coming to Busse Woods Forest Preserve

  • back road is still closed (as of May 31st) most likely from the cruising.
Also, Cook County Securtary of State is running the Lic. plates of every car in the preserves, looking for violations and such.
With Lic. Plates now linked to Drivers Lic. they can track who they have picked up before for cruising.

They have really started to crack down in Illinois.

Becareful, best to park in a near by shopping center and walk/bike to the areas for action. This saves on them running your plates and the impound fees.

  • Busse Woods is closed for the season with the following exceptions: The South entrance located off Rt 72, (Higgins Rd) 500 yards east of 53/290, is open year-round. The East entrance of Busse is on the west side of Arlington Heights Rd. 1/2 mile South of Rt. 72. It's open all year.

  • Correction - the first entrance off Higgins is NOT open at all this winter.

  • Some parts stay open all winter. The first entrance north off HIggins and west of Arlington Hts Rd, for instance, about 1/2 of it stays open all winter. And over at the western end, off Higgins, stays open all winter too.

    Never checked out Area 1 . . . .

  • This area has been rather slow this year. It might be due to the police being more active in their patrols, but maybe also because of the death that took place at Camp Pine. Thank you to the other poster who gave an updated description of the attacker from Camp Pine.
Note: Busse Woods has Seven areas. So always be on the lookout.
    1. One block south of Landmaier--on Arlington Heights Rd.
    2. Just north of Higgins Rd.
    3. Just west of Arlington Heights Rd. on the left.
    4. About 1/2 mile west of Arlington Hts. Rd. on the right.
    5. About 3/4 mile west of Arlington Heights Rd.
    6. About 1 mile west of Arlington...
    7. About 2 miles west of Arlington, just before Woodfield Mall.
Areas 3, 4, and 7 are the largest, but area 1 is just as busy.
If you see something wrong--contact the police anonymously...who knows how many lives you might save?
