Bailey, 56, is scheduled to be arraigned today on a charge that he attempted Dec. 27 to engage in lewd activities at a park in Fullerton, said Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Olivieri.

The arrest was made during a sting operation set up by the Fullerton Police Department that involved Bailey and a male undercover police officer at Brea Dam Park, the deputy district attorney said.

Fullerton police Sgt. Linda King confirmed that the man arrested was the principal of El Modena High.

Bailey, who was cited and released, faces a maximum of six months in jail, Olivieri said.

Bailey could not be reached for comment.

Bailey, who was principal for less than two years at El Modena, was forced to leave his position Thursday, Orange Unified School District officials said Monday.

"(He is) on mandatory leave as required by the education code," said Katherine Topor, executive assistant to the board. "Since it is a personnel matter, we cannot make any more comment. But it does not involve school activities, students or employees."

He's right. KCOP Channel 13 did a story on it last night(1/29/07)on how the principal of El Modena High School was busted here by an undercover cop on 12/27/06. They actually had a news anchor brodcasting from the park. It must have been a slow news night for them.
