***THIS FESTIVAL IS CANCELLED*** January 19, 2016 A LETTER FROM THE THAI CULTURE & FOOD FESTIVAL COMMITTEE Our dear friends, With a bittersweet heart and effective as of today, the Thai Culture & Food Festival scheduled for May 28-29, 2016 is being cancelled. The Chair & Founder of the Thai Culture & Food Festival who was also the President of the Thai Community Center of North Texas, no longer holds his presidency role so there is new leadership and board members in place and they have a new direction in mind for the organization. Under the new leadership for the Thai Community Center of North Texas, 501(c)3, they have decided to take a different direction including not continuing with this specific festival. The direction and plan is unknown at this point on if they will present another festival or not, but if so, it will not be under the Thai Culture & Food Festival name. We understand this comes at a surprise considering the positive feedback, support and funds raised for the community through the festival. This was a surprise for us too, and we apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused. A Thai proverb says “Friends for a meal are easy to find, Friends until the end of life are difficult to find.” But, how lucky are we that we have made lifetime friends with you through the Thai Culture & Food Festival! We are truly all friends. On behalf of Thai Culture & Food Festival organizers and committee, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the love and support these past two years. We had so much fun and truly enjoyed all the great memories, and we are beyond grateful that we had the opportunity to organize and coordinate such a magical and fun event to share our beautiful culture with you. We will leave the website, social media and event active so everyone can have a chance to see this announcement.
