DESCRIPTION:

Souper Bowl of Caring is a nationwide campaign that works to mobilize those looking to fight hunger and poverty in their own communities around the time of the Super Bowl football game. Every year our Cathedral of Hope Youth and Children’s ministries chooses a place in our community to benefit from their efforts. This year our children an young congregants will collect change that will benefit the community served by Promise House. Promise House embraces homeless, runaway and at-risk teens, and children giving them needed support, encouragement and hope to live a better life. Their programs cover the vital needs of teens, including emergency shelter, transitional living, pregnant and parenting teen services, individual, group and family counseling, street outreach and educational intervention. Promise House serves more than 70,000 teens and families in North Texas. This year we were notified that children of age 9 -10 were being drop of at Promise House. Promise House is currently working with Dallas CPS to assist with the unfortunate situation many young people face. On February 7 following both the 9 and 11 a.m. services, our CoH children and youth will be walking around with pots and pans collecting change (folding money accepted as well) from our congregants, and 100% of what is collected will be designated for Promise House. Our students will take the money donated to Promise House. Contact Minister Yadi at yadi@cathedralofhope.com with any questions.
