2017 Queering Arizona Conference February 25, 2017 10:00 am - 6:00 pm ASU Polytechnic Campus Register by February 13th at tinyurl.com/QAZ2017Reg Free Admission! More information at https://sites.google.com/site/queeringarizona2016/about In 2010, a small group of student and staff leaders from Arizona State University (ASU), Northern Arizona University (NAU), and University of Arizona (UA) came together for the first Queering Arizona conference to discuss and address the needs and concerns of LGBTQA+ students within their respective campuses. Since then, Queering Arizona has evolved into an annual statewide conference that includes students, faculty, and staff from public and private universities and community colleges all across Arizona. The day-long program provides an opportunity for leaders to build community, enhance their advocacy skills, mobilize activism initiatives, and be agents of change on their campuses. Overall Queering Arizona Objectives - To empower LGBTQA+ and allied student leaders as activists and change agents on their campuses and in their communities. - To provide LGBTQA+ and allied student leaders with practical skills and strategies for organizing and program development to utilize on their campuses. - To allow LGBTQA+ and allied student leaders to collaborate and share their ideas and experiences with others around the state. - More than providing descriptive information about a particular problem or topic, this conference focuses on practical aspects of LGBTQA+ activism and leadership development, and how students can walk away with specific strategies they can implement in their schools and communities.
