DESCRIPTION:

QueerWrites! A Writing Workshop. Space Very Limited! 3GT welcomes lez, bi, trans and questioning writers to join resident playwright Margery Kreitman for a 2 -1/2 hour writing workshop. We will be using writing and improv exercises to explore our lives, and create work for the stage in the form of monologue, scene writing, memoir, creative non-fiction, poetry, rap, and song lyrics. We will do warm ups to help activate spontaneity, trust our creative impulses and create on our feet. Using writing prompts, we will have several short periods of writing time. Afterwards, we will be reading our work aloud and offering feedback (positive only) about what stood out for us, the listeners. We will also be discussing how to structure narrative in scenes and monologue. A safe space will be created and held to explore and create. We welcome and would be delighted to have writers or all ethnicities and ages to come and participate! FREE to participate but spots are limited so be sure to reserve your ticket now!
