Gay & Night is a creative historical exhibition honouring Toronto's early LGBTQ community. Bringing together juicy archive materials and shadow puppet animated videos illustrating forgotten moments from Toronto’s queer past, Gay & Night will envision a complicated but inspiring past and future of the LGBTQ community in Toronto. Exhibition Opening: March 24, 2016 Exhibition Runs: March 20-April 3, 2016 Presented by MidKnife Films, in partnership with the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives, Glad Day Bookshop, and Myseum Toronto. This exhibition is part of Myseum Intersections, an annual festival of exhibits and events showcasing different perspectives of the city's natural, cultural, and historic diversity. Midnight at the Continental Meet Me Under the Clock MIDKNIFE FILMS is a Toronto-based artist collective dedicated to making short films using the low-tech magic of shadow puppetry to tell untold stories of marginalized communities in creative, informative and aesthetically beautiful ways. MidKnife have screened and won awards at LGBTQ and social justice festivals worldwide. The Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives is the largest independent LGBTQ+ archives in the world. Glad Day Bookshop is the world's oldest LGBTQ bookstore and Toronto's longest operating bookstore, with a new flagship location on Church Street.
