DESCRIPTION:

With the Month of March comes to possibility of SPRING..... we never quite know when that first gust of spring air will blow. One thing is sure though, spring brings a sense of 'out with the old, in with the new'. We see this everywhere! People buy new clothes, a lot of people move in spring, break up in spring, start dating new people...... the list goes on and on. How do we honour what's past? How do we welcome the new? Come show it, sing it, dance it, bring it! The stage is yours at Queer Cab. Doors at 8:30PM, show at 9PM. -- QueerCab is a chance for queer youth to take the stage in whatever form they want. Whether you adhere to the theme or you want to go your own route. The stage is yours to take. You can dance, show a film, do stand up comedy, play an instrument, performance art, whatever is in your heart and what's to come out! It's an open mic, so sign up in advance or the night of by e-mailing leelee@buddiesinbadtimes.com. There are limited slots! 55+ and want to talk the stage? There are a couple slots each Queer cab reserved for you! The event is pay-what-you-can, and all proceeds raised will be donated to a rotating organization. Buddies in Bad Times Theatre is Toronto’s leading destination for alternative theatre and a world leader in developing queer voices and stories for the stage. Buddies in Bad Times’ Youth Program engages queer youth and supports the development of early-in-craft artistic voices. We create artistic space for all youth and strive to celebrate, cultivate, and prioritize the diversity of Toronto's queer community by encouraging the development of BIPOC queer voices inclusively. We work with 2-Spirit, queer, trans, and gender variant youth who have an interest in theatre, performance, and the creative process, and may have no prior theatre experience.
