"I know a guy who wears a tutu and goes to bars on Friday night and is always surprised that he gets in fights. Well, he kind of asks for it." - Sen. Mike Enzi, April 20, Greybull High School. Sen. Enzi later apologized for the remarks and said he didn't mean to offend anyone. But he did. This is victim blaming. The remarks contribute to a culture that holds LGBT individuals responsibile for the violence committed against them. Instead of focusing on the victim, we need to focus on those that are filled with hate. I ask that you join us, your fellow kickballers, in wearing tutus to kickball games this Sunday, both on the National Mall and Stead Park. No one should be ashamed of who they are and how they dress.
