There is activity at both north and southbound
rest areas, though the latter seems the busiest.
There is understall action in the restrooms,
although this can be hampered by diligent
attendants. There is a network of trails
behind the dumspters which see a lot of
activity.
Crowd: Locals, truckers and commuters.

  • Sign has changed this week. Rest area will not reopen until the SPRING OF 2010.

  • visiting hagerstown 26-28th Sept looking for some NSA fun. staying local hotel there. heard the rest stops were closed.

  • Yes, sadly it's true...both Rest Stops are closing on 4/30 and the sign says they will be closed until 10/09/08. Where are we going to cruise now? These rest stops have been seeing a lot of action as of late.

    I vote for the Park & Ride at the bottom of the mountain on the Hagerstown side(Rt 66 exit off 70). It doesn't get much traffic at night. There aren't rest rooms, but the woods that line the back provide some good cover.

    Any other ideas guys?

  • This message really isn't about this location, but I didn't know where else to ask. It's been years since I spent any time in Haggerstown. Did all the street hustlers downtown go away?

  • Sadly, they are closing these rest stops on 04/30/2008 to be totally renovated. I've had a couple of hot encounters in the westbound rest stop. I go there late evening and park at the far end of the lot and sit on the picnic table. Once you connect with somebody you can walk into the woods for some private hot time! Maybe I'll go check it out again before the 30th. If anyone is interested in meeting me there, leave a message or send me an e-mail.
