Harriman State Park

areas

Is This Your Business?

It is a parking lot for a trail head and nature walk. The main path branches off throughout the woods. Park near the trail head and walk into the woods. You can also park at the beginning of the parking lot. Someone cruising will park in front of you. Get out and walk into the woods. They will follow. There are loads of downed trees and rock outcroppings to get down to business on. Well worn paths. Have never seen a cop or ranger. If you want to you can't miss here after 4 pm. I've hooked up every time I've been there.
Crowd: Guys on the way home from work. All types: young, mid, and older. Have heard of cadets from the point and even a TV.

Bear Mountain Bridge to Rt 6, go past 2nd traffic circle entrance to nature parking area on the right. (04/08/04) - another cruiser says: Take RT 6 from the second circle (not the one by the bridge) towards
harriman. Just as you get to the top of the hill it will be on your
right, very small sign you will probably pass it. Once you crest the hill and start going down you have gone too far. The exit is much more visible about a 1/4 mile past the entrance.

  • Looking forward to warm weather and hitting this place, and recent action? Quite a long drive for me if it is still dead

    Commented on 4/22/2009 8:18:02 AM

  • to get to the lake, you take the marked trail which I believe is the second trail entrance. The trail will go to the left and then cut back to the right and then down to the lake.

there is a shortcut but it isn't marked.

  • Hey "Bearlover24"

Yes....the spot is known as Long Path. It's along Rte 6.
It's a small spot with a small sign that you can easily miss driving along so be prepared to slam on your brakes to catch the entrance.
Hope I was able to help.

  • Hey...
Just thought I'd try to help out my "buds".
It's still cold this time of year but cruised there yesterday(4/11/09) late afternoon. From what I witnessed, predominantly empty other than the usual "old troll" hangout.
However.....cruised there before during warmer weather (last summer) and have seen younger dudes other than the geriatrics.
Bottom line?? It has potential other tha the "old trolls" that refuse to take no for an answer!
Hope I was able to help.

  • Take a 10-15 min hike down to the bottom of the hill and you'll find a lake. This deep in you won't get hassled by the man. It is an excellent place for nude sunbathing and hiking, or skinny dipping when it is warm enough. Plenty of regulars. If the weather holds up, I may stop by and strip down Friday late morning or early afternoon.

  • THE BEST PLACE FOR YOUNG GUYS IN THE NORTHEAST IS NEAR BRATTLEBORO VERMONT!!! From Brattleboro, Vt: Go north on SR-30 for 8.5 miles to Williamsville Rd. on the left. Park in the parking area on SR 30. Walk up Williamsville Rd, until you reach the first little drive on the right called Station Rd. (GPS 42* 56 48.05N by 72* 38 30.46W)
Walk in on Station Rd. towards 3 small houses. (It looks like a private drive, but its not!) Walk toward the wooden fence and past a small shack which almost blocks the path. Then walk along the trail which follows the river for about a mile. Go up the wooden stairway on the trail and keep going for another 1/4 mile, then cross the river at a shallow spot and you will be in the gayest nudist place in the northeast!.
