whos coming to Peck Lake Park

  • I always see cops here. Usually a cop car somewhere in the park. One time I was fishing on the wooden deck all the way out and a cop came walking up. He was suspicious of me but we chatted and he went on his way. I was just there to fish. This place is unsafe for play!!!!!

  • I'm a snowbird, visit family in Stuart this time o' year. Just wanted to share something with you-all.

I found this park many years ago and have met some cool guys there. But, several weeks ago I was at the park for maybe the 4th time in a week - and I was in my car, reading.

A cop had driven by a few times, then returned and parked. He approached my car and asked me several questions and said he noticed I had been in the area lately.

With out-of-state license plates I just played dumb, saying I was there to get out of the house and read. He notified me that this park is one where men come to meet other men and that they are being diligent about patrolling.

He did not mention undercover/plain-clothes operations as previous postings indicate. I am pretty observant and I have not seen anyone "suspicious looking" when I have been there. Yet, I suppose if they are effective undercover cops...

I am certain this cop meant to intimidate me. Yet, I have returned there to "read" without further incident (so far).
