Mad River Punch Bowl
The Punch Bowl ia swimming hole on the Mad River that is accessed through private property, but the owners keep the area open to the public and allow (even encourage) nudity. At some point on the fence there is a painted message that reads "Punch Bowl, Welcome, Nude Use Beyond This Point". Because of this signage and the privacy fence swimming suits are rare at this site. Both gay and straight visitors frequent this popular swimming hole, but the owner tend to emphasize that this is a family-oriented, children friendly nude site. (In other words, this is not the place to cruise.) There is a picnic area, but no restrooms or amenities. Please pack out any trash.

Take Exit 10 from I-89 in Waterbury, then head south on SR-100 about 14 miles to Irasville. Continue on SR-100 past junction with SR-17 for 2.75 miles. Watch for a field on the right (west) backed by wooden fence, park off roadside and walk toward the fence. The swimming hole is located behind the fence.
