For Your Eyes Only zine release party

Join us for the release of KC's newest queer zine, For Your Eyes Only. Saturday, December 10th from 6-10pm @ Night Blooms Darkroom & Bookstore 529 Southwest BLVD -Wine & finger foods will be provided -The evening will be punctuated with selected readings from contributers while moody mid-tempo electronica sets the tone. -The zine will be sold at a discounted price of $9.99 for this one-time event but will be available at the bookstore for the remainder of the holiday season for $12.50. For Your Eyes Only looks to evoke a time in LGBTQ history when queer periodicals and publications could only be ordered through discreet catalogs and arrived at your house in nondescript packaging. These illicit words and images deemed inappropriate by conventional society were meant to be enjoyed in the privacy of a locked bedroom when no one else was home. So much of modern queer media covers only the coastal, metropolitan lifestyle. What about those of us dwelling "off the beaten path"? Over 10 contributers have come together to create a portfolio combining fiction, poetry, opinions and photography with a distinctly Midwest, No-Coast point of view.
