Is This Your Business?

Great swimming, no undertow, shallow, sea turtles, great sun, close to Kona. Nudity not permitted, but once the park ranger makes his/her rounds, then many a suit comes off. Doesn't hurt to bring a pair of binoculars to keep an eye out for the ranger.
Crowd: Local gays, local straights, lots of gay tourists.

This is the beach in the E Komo Mai area, administered by the National Park
Service. It's 3 miles north of Kailua. The parking area (N19 40.269 W156
01.419) is on the north side of the Honokohau small boat harbor. As you
walk in on the trail, when you come to a Y, bear right. In a bit there'll
be a big compost toilet that is often very active, especially late in the
afternoon, when guys don't want to take the time to go all the way out the
beach.

whos coming to Kona Harbor Beach

  • Guys lie in small brush cutouts along beach. Guys cruising by often double back to lagoon marsh side of brush and wait to see if you're interested. If beach is over-populated, guys looking for action often walk beyond far point on raised lava walkway to tunnel of trees and brush beyond. Beach and shore "break" are also favorite hangouts for large green sea turtles. No running into the water here -- those large underwater rocks are moving around.
