When you pas a street called Rue des Dunes, look for parking & access to the beach.The officially sanctioned nude beach begins just south of Plage de la Barrique. While most nude bathers gather near the beginning of the nude zone (i.e. the northern end, the nude beach extends southward for as far as you wish to walk. This beach is so long it is never crowded, and draws a mix of straight and gay.

From Les Sables-d'Olonne head east on D949 for 30 kms to junction with D747. Head south on D747 for 12 kms to La Tranche-sur-Mer, then east on D46 for 9kms. to La Faute-sur-Mer. From a roundabout called Pond-Point,just before bridge over Lay River, turn onto Ave. de la Plage, which doubles back to coast and ends, then turn south onto Blvd. de la Foret, pass 3 beaches the last of which is named Barrique before reaching the nude beach.
