Driving from Leicester to Uppingham on A47. Pass turn off towards Belton in Rutland and Allexton. Layby is on the left approximately 400 metres further on. If you get to Wardley you have gone to far.
Cross street: Heading towards Uppingham. Crossroads A47 and Belton turning.

  • Directions:Driving from Leicester to Uppingham on A47. Pass turn off towards Belton in Rutland and Allexton. Layby is on the left approximately 400 metres further on. If you get to Wardley you have gone to far.

  • Hours:All day
    Best times: Afternoons seem best, but cruisers about all day. Lots of truckers stop overnight and use cafe at the entrance to the layby for breakfast.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:GET OUT OF YOUR CAR. Flash headlights or hazards.
    Cruisiest Spots: Middle stretch of layby, woods on both sides. There is a footpath on the left side that leads to a field and well secluded from the layby. At the end of the layby there is a gate that seperates the layby from a stretch that offers a lengthy secluded footpath, worth a walk and a look.

  • Warnings:Clean up your and tissues. There are bins along the whole stretch of the layby use them.
    Warnings: Cafe at the beginning of the layby attracts families so use middle or other end.
