A Lido (swimming pool) is a public outdoor swimming pool and surrounding facilities, or part of a beach where people can swim and this one is in a beautiful and open location. At night, it has many benches and tall lamps which light up certain parts of the park but there are also hidden areas where there is a lot of shadow. Open to all and at all times of the night.

Neighbourhood: Locarno Delta

The exact location of the park is on the lake front where the Via Giavacchino Respini which is the main road along the lake intersects with the Via alla Lanca degli Stronazzi. To get there follow the road which stretches along from the Locarno towncentre wateredge and follow the road right, facing the lake, along the waters edge for twenty minutes walk or a couple of minutes by car. The park is called the Lido (or to be more specific, it is the open part of the Lido next to the main Lido complex, and there are many signs in the town which signify Directions. Also if confused, search for signs for the Locarno Delta camping ground which is next to the Lido also. There are boats moored in a small area right next to the Lido park on its right, and to its left it has a complex of indoor swimming pools etc... Across the main road there is also a forest and a small stadium. Most people who go there park their cars in the car park spots which are situated next to the small park, by the main road.

  • Hours:This is a Lido, which means it is a a public outdoor swimming pool including surrounding facilities, and part of a beach where people can swim. During the day it is one of the main beaches for Locarno and there are many families and children around so it is not cruisy during the main day hours. However go beyond midnight and it tends to get cruisy, with around 4 men being present for the few early hours in the morning from 12 till 5. especially during the summer months. Would not go here during winter due to Locarno being mostly a holiday city and so there will doubtfully be any action then. It must be summer really. Also weekends are the best time.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Main signs are just to walk around and sit on a bench. Walk past the italian men and they will probably make some recognition, mostly by cupping their crotch or balls, or taking interest in a certain form of conversation. Most are Italian or Swiss Italian so use other forms of language other than speaking if your italian is not top notch. Use the universal language or horniness. All kinds of guys go there although most seem to be ones who are able to drive their cars there. Do not be put off if you are a tourist to this city though in going there. The reason they take their cars is merely due to the issue of facility rather than because it is inaccesible or because it is far from the city.
  • Nudity / Policy:Nudity and nakedness are fine in very shaded areas durin gthe cruisy hours as long as you do not get caught. Many of the men seem to always be on the lookout hoping no one will be watching.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / Not very. There are steps to go into the park on some parts but on other parts it is fine. Just do not go too near the waters edge. Also, would take a drive to get to the park from the city centre of locarno, and most of the italian and swiss italian men go there with cars, or it is a twenty minute walk on the waters edge heading right from the city centre looking at the lake.
  • Warnings:Watch out for police cars which go down the main road every so often, although have not come across any case of them exiting their vehicles and actually entering the park. Also, understand that this is a major waterfront going to a campsite right next to it, and in the late night and early morning some people may be walking it for its views or to get to the campsite from the centre of Locarno. There are dark and light spaces, but the best thing to do would be to take your choice person and take them into the absolutely dark wood which is on the otherside of the main road, where there is absolute darkness and even benches. Also an issue of money is rare but may come up so do not take your wallet. Also, this quiet area of the inner city seems to also attract straight couples having in their cars sometimes.
