  • Hours:From Ashton-u-Lyne, follow the A635 for Holmfirth. Eventually you will start climbing the Saddleworth Moor About � mile after you start climbing up the moor (no street lights) you go past Dovestones Reservoir sign and the lay by is a couple of hundred yards on the right. There is one of those big stone polo mints in the layby (National Trust sign?) you can also go a little past the layby into the carpark where the toilets are, near the north end of the Dovestone Reservoir
    Best times: Weekday afternoons from 2pm..
