Plage du Mont-Rose
Plage du Mont-Rose is the closest nude beach to Marseille and also the gayest, as it is visited almost exclusively by gay men. The terrain is rugged, this is not a sandy beach, but there are huge slabs of rock on which to sun bathe. While not officially clothing optional, nudity is freely tolerated.

From central Marseille take Avenue du Prado southwest to the coast. At the coast turn left and follow coastal road south for 4kms. Find parking and access to the beach in a small hamlet called Samena, near the St-Edouard chapel and a side street called Mont-Rose. The beach is easily reached by public transit - take the #19 bus to its terminus near the beach.
