The

bars

29 Second Ave (formerly on 188 Ave A )

Is This Your Business?

This is not The as is used to be on Avenue A. It's just a bar, a little sleazier than others. This space used to be The Hole, another very missed sleazy gay bar of the city.
Crowd: East Village types.

Neighbourhood: East Village.

Who's Coming

  • Crowd:East Village types.
  • Directions:Cross street: Between 2nd and 1st St.
  • Hours:Doors open 11pmBest times: The first few custommers don't pay cover, then it's 5$, then it's 10$. So usually it's free before midnight. The place gets VERY crowed after 1pm.Dates open: hmm-evenings like maybe 7 on
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:It is so crowded, everybody rubs against each other. Grab a drink and open conversation with a cute one! Hopefully you'll bring one back to your place. Cruisiest Spots: The whole place is a cruising playground.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:Yes / There are no stairs.
  • Warnings:No , no smoking anymore. There used to be some action in the bathroom but now their is an employee checking with a flashlight at every moment. We used to smoke in too, but now they have huge posters saying you'll be kicked out if you do. New York City is getting pretty boring! Warnings: Another cruiser warns us: 'Cops raid the place frequently. They typically show up, march around like stormtroopers, scare everyone off, and then leave.'

  • Went here with a friend Friday night 1/23/09. Paid the $10 cover only to find that the basement level was NOT open. The coatcheck guy informed us that it is closed for renovations. Any one know the story? When will it reopen? Info greatly appreciated
