Go onto the A1 and take the Gosforth, Wideopen turn off. Head towards the Marriot Hotel. At the roundabout turn left, then next rounabout turn left again, there is a very small roundabout just after the second one, turn left here.
Follow road straight down for about 1 mile past all the houses. Once the houses are passed there are two carparks on this road both on the left handside, the first one is the best but small, it has excellent woods and paths, very private and always busy.The next carpark is bigger and also well shaded from traffic.
