Pembroke "Tea Dances"

bars

Shot's, G'Day's, Lasso

Is This Your Business?

Shot's is mostly younger crowd, 19-30, mostly military guys. G'Days people are 19-45, mostly college, blue collar, military and businessmen. Lasso is known as "Last Chance Saloon", and all ages go there, 19 to ?, but it is easily the most gay-friendly bar in the area. Thursday night go any one of them. Friday to Shot's or G'Days. Saturday to G'Days or Shot's, not Lasso. Sunday night best bet is always Lasso.
Crowd: 19 to 50.

Neighbourhood: Downtown

Who's Coming

19 to 50.

Three bars on same side of street within 4 blocks of each other.
Cross street: MacKay
  • Crowd:19 to 50.
  • Hours:11pm-2am. This is one of those areas where people drink at house parties then go to the bars after 11pm.
    Best times: Midnight to close.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Hey, we don't have a "gay" bar yet, but just watch for second and third glances. There are tons of guys looking to get off any way they can.
Cruisiest Spots: Main bars. But they are smaller clubs so usually closer to the back.
  • Nudity / Policy:NO nudity or bathroom stuff.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:Yes / Street level.
  • Warnings:None of these bars are places where "queens" or fem guys would be welcome, except Sundays at Lasso. Just men looking for men. Don't expect that a couple glances means a whole lot, unless the guy starts hanging around you. Don't make it obvious to anyone in the bar, and until you are sure, which is more difficult in a small city area with so many closeted military/construction workers, then ask him if he wants to split to party somewhere else. If he says no, he either means his buddies will wonder, or he means NO. If you are sure, just say you're going outside for "fresh air", and if he follows, you're in. Most of these guys are big into PNP, so if that's your scene, go for it. Don't get drunk, and just be aware at all times, like any bar.
