Is This Your Business?

The Macho Bar is an offshoot of the Atlantic House, billed as a leather/levi bar and the only decent one in P-town. They show on TVs in the corners of the room and also show projected onto a big map of Cape Cod used as a screen. The Macho Bar closes down in the fall and reopens in the spring around Memorial Day or later. The bar gets crowded, especially during the height of the season in July and August. Stroking, sucking, and even some goes on in the shadows of this "back" room that isn't really a back - it's off to the side. The staff are not tolerant to cruising and will shut it down if they find it, so playing discreetly is important.
Crowd: The Macho Bar is billed as a leather/levi place but the crowd is pretty mixed. A bunch of macho guys do go there but lots of guys in beach gear too, on vacation.

Neighbourhood: Downtown Provincetown

Masonic Place is a small dead-end side street off Commercial St. It's located in the middle of Town, one building back from the Commercial St. row on the left. You can walk from Commercial St or down from Bradford via a staircase that leads down off the hill.Cross street: Commercial St
  • Crowd:The Macho Bar is billed as a leather/levi place but the crowd is pretty mixed. A bunch of macho guys do go there but lots of guys in beach gear too, on vacation.
  • Hours:Closes seasonally.Best times: Cruisiest after 11:00 PM. Get there too early and you'll be the only one standing around.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:The ususal - find someone you want to play with, look and rub your crotch. If they're interested they'll rub back. Cruisiest Spots: There is a side room to the right off the main bar that is dark and gets crowded with guys, especially on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. It's actually better with lots of guys, because everyone faces out to watch the big screen TVs creating a visual barrier that guys can play behind.
  • Nudity / Policy:Not officially tolerated but it still happens
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / Not handicapped accessible.
  • Warnings:The bartenders are notoriously bitchy towards guys they don't deem to be "macho" enough for their bar. If you're not in leather garb or a shirtless hunk, be prepared to wait for a drink or go downstairs to the Little Bar. There is one bartender with a shaved head and a rediculous eye patch who "selectively" won't see people waiting to buy a beer. Warnings: There is another little leather guy in a harness who goes around with a flashlight checking for beer bottles. He will shut down activity if he finds it.
