cruiser Update 2/7/2008: The beach is actually between the 'lover's lane' parking area and the Capitol Building. Look for the National Guard building on the main road into Old San Juan. Across the street is a park with a gazebo where guys cruise and a promenade along the cliff. You can see the beach below, but have to find one of several paths in the bushes to climb down to the beach. Can be fun - but don't bring valuables - its very secluded, so be careful. Never had a problem - but many guys go at night and anything could happen. Access to beach areas depends on the tide and paths tend to change after heavy rains. Wear good shoes.
--------

Previous Description: The beach is very cruisy during the day and well into the night. Guys hook up and use the adjacent wooded area for action. Occasional police patrols so use some discretion.
Crowd: All ages.

  • Directions:This cruisy beach and adjacent woods is located in front of the Capitol building in old San Juan.
  • Hours:Daytime through late evening.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Another cruiser adds: this area is ok but be warned, it is very close to a very bad neighborhood. The neighborhood has easy access to the beach and the beach is frequented by some of the residents. the residents live with drug dealers and addicts at most every corner, this area is high in crime. Tourist are the people who are usually targete. I checked out this area after seeing the listing and I will never return. This area is called La Perla, I saw guys dressed in what could pass for parking attendant uniforms, guiding people to park in a lot where later a tow truck came and took the cars away. Puerto Rico has many beautiful places to see this is definately not one of them. best areas are outside the san juan districts.
