  • Crowd:All types; college students from nearby College of San Mateo and married commuters.
  • Hours:24 hours, 365 days.
    Best times: After dark.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Go up trail, good view of anyone approaching.
Cruisiest Spots: Trail up to the statue. Car-to-car cruising, especially along east side row of cars; and under partition action in rest room.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Despite the good view from uphill of foot traffic approaching up the walkway, Highway Patrol and County Sheriff may try their old ploy of parking just south of the rest area, before the exit, and 'ambushing' by charging up and over the hill south of Fr. whos coming to I-280 Father Serra Rest Area

  • Just so everyone knows - this place has strong history of raids. It may appear to have eased up, but be very cautious here. The area is patrolled by the San Mateo Sheriff who can be very nasty. Just don't get too overconfident here.
