It is a rarely used forest preserve. There is a large parking lot, with two picnic shelters. There is a large meadow bordered by woods just north of the parking lot.
Crowd: Mainly horseback riders. Parking lot is usually empty, save for one or two horse trailers and occasional dog walkers.

Neighbourhood: Along Indiana/Illinois State line

On Burnham Ave in Sauk Village, midway between Sauk Trail and Steger Rd. From Sauk Trail, turn south on Burnham. Entrance is on the east side of the street about a mile south of Sauk Trail.
Cross street: East 223rd St.
  • Crowd:Mainly horseback riders. Parking lot is usually empty, save for one or two horse trailers and occasional dog walkers.
  • Hours:Close at sundown.
    Best times: After work (4-7PM).
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Wait for someone to pull up next to your parked car and join them, or walk off towards the woods and hope they follow.
    Cruisiest Spots: Trail to the east, next to Circle drive. Surrounding woods to the north. Two picnic shelters or just park in cars.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Be discreet. Even though I've never seen cops or forest preserve officers at this location.

  • You'd think a rainy day like today would be ideal for in-car action. Less foot traffic and drive-bys. Been here over an hour and only the occasional looky-loos racing through.
