  • I finally checked this location out a few weeks ago. I have to admit, I won't be going back anytime soon. I was there during the late afternoon on a weekday. At the end of the parking lot past the boat launch area, there is a sheriff's department substation. While I was parked in the area near the tables, two law enforcement vehicles passed by. That made me very uncomfortable. It wasn't enough to dissuade two other gentlemen who were sitting in a pickup truck. I couldn't tell exactly what was going on due to the space between our parked vehicles but it was a good five minutes or so before the passenger exited the truck and got into his own car. I didn't get the impression they were trading barbecue recipes. There were also several gentlemen sitting in commercial vehicles in the parking lot. To their credit, they tried to look as if they were making an innocent pit stop from work. However, we all know the 'game' is played on many different levels and this was just another tactic to stay below the police radar. One gentleman did get out of his car and walked on the sidewalk. I've heard you can sometimes meet someone that way and go elsewhere. I can't confirm it because he wasn't my type and I figured why waste his time or mine. As far as the type of gentlemen that were there? I would say late 40's to mature, blue collar. As you can imagine though, there are always exceptions. I would say if you choose to go here, just be extremely careful. Especially with the 'law' being within shouting distance. Happy Hunting !!!
