NDK subway toilets
National Palace of Culture
This is probably the best place to cruise in central Sofia at any point throughout the day. The toilets are located in the subway area (underpass area) at the front of the NDK , pronounced "en-de-ka", (National Palace of Culture), a colossal Communist-style conference, media and expo centre in the heart of the city.

The NDK is situated opposite Hilton Sofia and next to one of the best shopping boulevards in Sofia, Vitosha Boulevard, where you can find anything from the latest Gucci and Prada to some mouth-watering local dishes being sold side by side.

- Hours:The toilets in the NDK underpass shut at 9pm on weekdays and 6pm during the weekend. The best time is lunch or after work but it is almost certain that you will find action there at any point in the day.
- Cruising Info/ Tips:Compared to the rest of the public cruising spots in Sofia, most of which are now defunct, this is the place to be. An entrance charge of 0.40 stotinki applies at the door of the washroom where friendly old cleaning ladies sit all day. They are perfectly aware of what goes on inside but are totally fine with it and some are even good friends with the regular cruisers. The toilet area itself is quite damp and in places even dirty but the buzz and the make it all worth-while.
The best thing about this place is that the crowd is so varied. You get young and fit gymnast types, old pensioners, office types in smart suits, guys from the deep province....basically you get all sorts, but of course nothing is set in stone. - Nudity / Policy:There is no nudity and you need to enter a cabin to start the fun as the cleaners sometimes arrive to clean.
- Wheelchair Accessible:No / Regrettably there is no handicap access.
- Warnings:This place is well-known to the authorities and the management of the venue as a gay cruising spot but so far no police presence or arrests have been reported. Bulgaria is a member of the EU.
