Borne of clubland discontent, recklessness, love and sweat, Bad Dog spawned in the year 2000 deep in the steaming bowels of the Sydney CBD. It rapidly matured, gaining strength and mutating as its habitat spread to Darlinghurst, Kensington, Waverley, Marrickville, Tempe and Sans Souci. Now in a stunningly unexpected development it has swum upstream in the Georges River and crawled ashore onto its muddy banks by a gigantic ex power station, laying in wait as it prepares to metamorphose into its largest, most glorious form yet - DOGZILLA! Drawing nourishment from the thunderous electronic rhythms of Annabelle Gaspar, Stephen Sonius, Bill Cotsis and Ben Drayton, the audio rays precision focused by master sonic engineer Kevin Davidson, this party monster has absorbed all that directed energy, radiating it back with devastating effect. The beast cannot, will not be stopped. DOGZILLA unleashes on SATURDAY JULY 1ST, at the incredible Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (1 Powerhouse Road, Casula), and will run from 2 PM - 11 PM. Awe incoming! At this party we’re thrilled to welcome back our friend, visual artist Marion Conrow, who is taking on the mammoth projection task. Marion’s history with Bad Dog dates back to our Waverley Bowlo days. Her work will look astounding in the Powerhouse’s cavernous Turbine Hall. Document your proof of the rare and exotic in John and Joy's photo booth. We love all creatures great and small and weird! DOGZILLA tickets are $50 + booking fee, available from Maxxx Black (1/264 King St, Newtown), The Toolshed (Level 1, 81 Oxford St, Darlinghurst), Hair Of The Dog (378 Cleveland St, Surry Hills) and Happy Endings (660 Bourke St, Redfern). There will also be some on the door for $60, subject to availability. We’ll have our (t)rusty Bad Dog bendy buses on hand to assist with your transport needs and the trains on the Inner West & South line run from Central via Newtown to Casula Station, 177 metres from the Powerhouse - virtually on its doorstep. There are also two large car parks on site. Keep an eye on this page for a detailed transport post in the lead up to the party. Casula Powerhouse is a stunning, unique space. We’re beyond excited to share it with you all but with summer temperatures being what they are here, it’s likely it’ll be another year before we’re out this way again. Whatever you do, don’t miss this party or else you’re gonna need a note from your Mothra!
