A deep ravine in the heart of the city, with the lights of ultra-wealthy Rosedale glimmering along the brim. There can be hundreds of men there on a hot summer night. There are even a few in winter. The best place is at the bottom of the ravine -- follow well-used trails, and there are many side nooks and bushy cathedrals for worship of various kinds.
Crowd: Joggers, twinks, average, hot, older, all varieties. Students from 3pm to 7pm in season, or on summer vacation.

Neighbourhood: St. Clair near Yonge St.

Go south from St. Clair & Yonge St. two blocks south to Rosehill Ave. Turn down Rosehill & half way down the street you'll see the reservoir on the left.
Cross street: Rosehill Ave & Avoca
  • Crowd:Joggers, twinks, average, hot, older, all varieties. Students from 3pm to 7pm in season, or on summer vacation.
  • Hours:Toronto public parks are open 24 hours.
    Best times: Mornings 6-9am Joggers, Afternoons but down the stairs in David Balfour park. Evenings after dusk til after St. Clair pubs last call.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Most action at east end of park.
    Cruisiest Spots: The park benches at the east end and just down the bottom of the stairs. Very busy there.

  • That is quite the shelter. Reminds me of the one that burnt down last summer, near the brokern water fountain. Wonder if that too is going to be rebuilt by the same thoughtful and industrious guy! LOL.

  • The Shelter the guys are talking about is at the end of David Balfour Park. If you come in off of Mt Pleasant Road, follow the paved trail till there is no longer any grass, you will see a path to the left (basically the border of the grass and woods). Follow it and the path becomes a mulched trail that curves up a slight incline, there are several fallen tress, you will see a shelter created by interlocking branches on your left, the entrance is a bit hidden but there.

    If you are coming from Rosehill reservoir, follow the paved sloping trail cross the bridge, the broken water fountain is to your left, and the paved trail continues to your right. Follow the paved trail on your right, past the unpaved and paved split, chose either one, but don't cross the second bridge, continue along the paved trail under the train tracks until it opens again to grass, turn right and follow path till it turns into a mulched trail and you are there as mentioned above.

  • Really!! I was there from 1-2pm and didn't see any action at all and it's not difficult to notice with no leaves for coverage plus the trails are too muddy.

    Also too many dog walkers, joggers and students walking through. Too risky for daytime fun here.
